Paragraph:
Based upon the population of each of the five largest cities in Fiji, it would appear that the country follows rank-size rule. Lautoka is about two-thirds the size of Suva which is not extremely close to the one half it should be, however Lautoka is not substantially smaller than Suva either. Nadi has fifty four percent of the total population of Suva in their city so again this is over the regular mark by a large sum, but it is still not substantially smaller than Suva. The final two cities, Labasa and Ba are thirty-six percent and twenty percent of the total population of Suva, making them much closer to the size the rule follows. Ba is almost exactly the right size it should be to be one fifth the size of the largest city. The country obviously does not follow primate city rule because by definition the second largest city would have to be disproportionally smaller than the largest city which is not true and while Fiji does not follow rank-size rule perfectly, it does work out a lot better than primate city rule.
