Mathilde, Belgium's Queen, made a recent visit to Hong Kong to discuss finance and trade. Each country is helping each other out by giving what they have to offer. Belgium offers China a field of design and a sence of culture. By doing this, Belgium is hoping that in return for helping China they get a trade partner. Mathilde says that creativity and design were important in developing her country and she hopes China will appreciate them too. Belgium is hoping to learn about some services offered in China and bring them back to Belgium.
The article explained that Belgium was hoping to exchange services with China so that each country would contain cultural aspects of either. I found this to be sort of odd because both of their cultures are very different from each other, so if they had similar aspects of each other then their countries might be altered very much so. It also shows that the countries are running a risk, because there is no guarentee that they will like what each other have to offer or if either country offers any ideas at all.
This article ties into the culture of Belgium because if the Queen's plan suucceds then parts of Belgium's culture might be alterred. This would effect the culture in Belgium through some of the services they offer and how their trade with other countries goes. If their trade is altered then the goods and services provided in Belgium might be different in the next few years.
